STORMVILLE – A West Hempstead man has been remanded to the Dutchess
County Jail in lieu of bail on a charge of felony promoting prison contraband
for attempted to enter Green Haven Correctional Facility with a razor
blade.
Norman Gonzalez, 49, was arrested on Friday, February 20 following an
investigation by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations at
the Poughkeepsie barracks. Department of Corrections and Community Supervision
staff detained Gonzalez when he tried to gain entry with the weapon.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000
cash bail or $40,000 bond.
