TOWN OF AMENIA – A Dover Plains man was arrested by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into a one-car crash on Old Route 22 in the Town of Amenia last Thursday night, February 19.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a car on its side and the driver missing. A witness told them he had left.
Ignacio Perez, 26, of Mill Street in Dover Plains, was later located near his home. Deputies said he was allegedly intoxicated at the time he was driving the car. While attempting to arrest him, Perez because physically combative. Deputies were eventually able to take him into custody.
Perez was charged with felony DWI as a second offense, resisting arrest and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
