GOSHEN – The 280 corrections officers employed at the Orange County Jail, who are members of the Orange County Corrections Officers Benevolent Association, are headed toward a new contract.
The new four-year agreement, which is retroactive to January 1, 2012, expires at the end of this year.
The pact includes no pay raise in the first two years, and 1.5 percent in years three and four.
County Human Resources Commissioner Steven Gross told the Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee and the Personnel and Compensation Committee of the county legislature that the contract also provides for all members to contribute to the cost of their health care policies.
The committees unanimously approved the new contract at their meetings this week.
