WEST NYACK – Clarkstown Police Thursday
identified the 56-year-old man, who was driving a Hummer vehicle that
slammed into a snow bank on Route 59 in the vicinity of Larch Court in
West Nyack early Wednesday afternoon.

The driver was identified as Emmanuel Estriplet of Central Nyack. He died
at Nyack Hospital after being transported from the scene of the crash.

A passenger in his vehicle, Marie Cherimond, 55, from Central Nyack, was
treated for minor injuries. The two were friends who lived in the same
area.

Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash,
but said preliminary information raises the possibility that a medical
condition suffered by Estriplet was a factor that led to the vehicle veering
off the road, striking the snow bank and overturning.
