Fallsburg police use Narcan for the first time

SOUTH FALLSBURG – Town of Fallsburg Police revived its first victim of a drug overdose with Narcan, the drug provided by the state to all law enforcement.
Police received a call of an unresponsive 54-yhear-old man found lying in the bedroom of a residence on Lake Street in South Fallsburg. He had shallow breathing and a slow pulse.
Detective Brendan Pavese administered the drug, which has the generic name Naloxone.
The man regained consciousness and was transported to Catskill Regional Medical Center.
The department began carrying Narcan last October.
