Woman wanted for attempted murder arrested on Kingston drug charges

KINGSTON – A Brooklyn woman wanted by NYPD on an attempted murder
charge has been arrested in Kingston on drug charges.
Police investigated a buy-bust drug operation in the area of West Pierpont and Russell streets on Wednesday and observed Lynell Baynes, 32, of Brooklyn. She was seen allegedly selling suspected crack cocaine to another person and when officers moved in to arrest her, she fled into an apartment and barricaded herself in a bathroom.
Officers made entry after a brief but violent struggle and took her into custody. Additional evidence was recovered at the scene.
Baynes was charged under the warrant with attempted murder and locally
for the felonies of drug sale and possession, criminal use of drug paraphernalia
and resisting arrest.
