KINGSTON – The Ulster Regional Gang
Enforcement Narcotics Team has arrested an Ellenville man following an
investigation into heroin sales.
The suspect was known as “Leo” and following an investigation,
officers conducted an undercover buy operation, identifying the man as
Jorge Vega, 44, of Brodhead Street in Ellenville.
An arrest warrant was obtained and on Wednesday, members of URGENT and
Ellenville Police located Vega on Berme Road in Wawarsing and placed him
under arrest.
He was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance – heroin
– and criminal possession with intent to sell, both as felonies,
and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Vega was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail
or $10,000 bond.
