WALDEN – Brian Maher, Walden’s village mayor, who earlier announced he was not seeking reelection, will run for Montgomery town supervisor this fall.
Maher is a Republican as is incumbent Supervisor Michael Hayes.
Hayes said Wednesday that he is planning to run for another term in November, but he may have to face a GOP primary in September against his new challenger.
Maher will make his official political announcement on Friday evening. He said he will seek the Republican, Conservative and Independence Party nominations for the November general election.
