WHITE PLAINS – A former teacher at a school in Mamaroneck was arrested last Friday by US Postal Inspection Service officials and charged with possession and receipt of child pornography.
According to the allegations in the federal criminal complaint, Lyle
Kamlet, 62, of Mount Vernon, ordered child pornography videos, some of
which he had mailed to the school where he worked. During a search
of his home, law enforcement seized those videos and found home movies
he had created that contained inmages of naked children.
Kamlet is charged with one count of receiving child pornography, which carries a mandatory five to 20 years sentence in federal prison, and possessing child pornography, which carries up to 10 years in prison. He also faces a possible $250,000 fine.
