LIBERTY – A Loch Sheldrake man was arrested by Liberty Village Police following an investigation into forged checks that had been deposited at a bank in the village.
Police began their investigation when they were alerted to possible bank fraud and they determined that Tyrece Williams, 36, had allegedly stolen two checks belonging to another person and had endorsed them over to himself.  He attempted to deposit them with a value of $6,600 into his bank account.
Williams was arrested on Thursday and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and attempted grand larceny, all felonies.  He was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
