Wurtsboro man charged with growing pot, possession of weapon as convicted felon

WURTSBORO – A Wurtsboro man was arrested by State Police and charged with several offenses dealing with marijuana and weapon possession.
Troopers said Jason VanKleek, of 11 VFW Road, was arrested last Thursday on a felony charge of criminal possession of marijuana for possessing 10 pounds of the drug. He was also charged with misdemeanors of unlawful growing of cannabis, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon as a convicted felon, as well as a violation of unlawful possession of fireworks.
Police began the investigation on January 10 and arrested VanKleek on January 22.
