MONTICELLO – A Woodridge man is in the Sullivan County Jail without bail after he jumped into the back seat of a vehicle occupied by two women in a residential driveway in Monticello.
The women had returned from shopping Friday evening when the man, later identified as Gimel Kimble, 29, jumped into the back seat waiving what appeared to be a silver colored semi-automatic handgun.  He ordered the women to drive him away, claiming he was being chased by other men with whom he had been involved in a dispute.
One of the women struggled with Kimble, was able to disarm him and throw the gun into a snow bank.
Kimble fled, but was located and arrested on Saturday. He was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanors of menacing and unlawful imprisonment.
Monticello Police were assisted at the scene of the original incident by Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies and State Police. Village of Woodridge Police assisted Monticello Police in arresting Kimble on Saturday.
