Winter storm warning in effect

MID-HUDSON – A winter storm warning is in effect through 6 p.m. Saturday as snow and ice fall across the region.
The National Weather Service said snow accumulation of five to eight inches is expected along with up to a 10th of an inch of ice. Snowfall accumulation could be as much as one inch per hour into Saturday afternoon.
Treacherous travel conditions are expected due to the wintry mix of snow, sleet and ice.
The heavy, wet snow accumulations could knock down some tree limbs and power lines.
Winds are expected to be northeast 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts up to 25 mph.
