Poughkeepsie man charged with illegal gun possession

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie man is under arrest on a charge of felony criminal possession of a weapon after police found him in possession of a loaded .380 Berretta handgun.
Ashton Latouche, 18, was arrested in the upper parking lot of the Poughkeepsie train station.
Poughkeepsie Police were called to the area of Main Street and Rinaldi Boulevard just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a man with a gun. They spotted two men on Main Street matching the description provided by police dispatch.
When officers attempted to stop them, both men ran off in different directions. Latouche was detained by the train station and the second man, Devon Gaston, 19, also of Poughkeepsie, was found in the basement of a vacant church at 11 Davies Place. He was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass and released on an appearance ticket.
