Monticello man arrested for stabbing

MONTICELLO – A Monticello man is in the Sullivan County Jail on a felony assault charge for allegedly stabbing another man several times in the torso.
Village Police also charged Eyder Morales-Rosario, 32, with criminal possession of a weapon.
Police were called to building 23 at the “Sleepy Hollow apartments at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday for a report of a stabbing. The 25-year-old victim, who was stabbed with an unknown sharp-edged object, had been transported by private vehicle to Catskill Regional Medical Center prior to police arrival on the scene. He underwent emergency surgery for a lacerated left lung and was listed in stable condition.
An investigation at the scene identified Morales-Rosario as the assailant. He was located at an upstairs apartment and arrested without incident.  Following arraignment, he was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
