NANUET – Clarkstown Police are investigating the discovery of a credit card skimmer and camera on an ATM machine at a 7-11 store on Route 59 in Nanuet.
Police were called to the scene at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, when a 43-year-old Nanuet man attempted to make a transaction and felt the card reader was tighter than normal.
Police found a camera mounted atop the keypad of the machine as well as a card skimmer that had been placed there.
This is an active investigation and police ask anyone who used that machine recently to contact their bank to ensure their account was not compromised.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Clarkstown Detective Bureau at 845-639-5840.
