TOWN OF CHESTER – A 32-year-old Village
of Florida man was killed at mid-morning on Monday when his car apparently
skidded on ice covered roads during freezing rain and struck a utility
pole on Route 94 east of Rick Way.

Town Police Chief Daniel Doellinger said the crash occurred at 10:15 a.m.,
when the driver, whose name is being withheld pending notification of
relatives, left the roadway and struck a utility pole causing a temporary
power outage to the area.

The victim was extricated from the 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit by the Chester
