MONTICELLO – Village police arrested a Monticello woman after they found her unconscious in her apartment last Saturday.  Her seven-month-old child was in the apartment.
Jessica Simpson, 24, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.  All charges are misdemeanors.
Responding officers found Simpson unconscious from an apparent drug overdose. Officers observed in plain view crack pipes, hypodermic syringes and numerous open glassine envelopes used to package heroin. Simpson was administered Naloxone through a nasal applicator and regained consciousness within three minutes. She was subsequently transported to CRMC by Mobile Medic Ambulance for follow-up medical treatment.
Simpson is in the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $1500 bail.
