CORTLANDT – State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Cortlandt barracks conducted an underage drinking enforcement operation in Westchester County on December 30.  Twelve stores were checked for compliance by using a 19-year-old volunteer to purchase alcoholic beverages, under the observation of plain clothed police officers, supported by uniformed troopers.

The following stores failed to comply with the state’s Alcohol Beverage Control Law and arrests were made on the following employees:

Carmen Alvarez, age 33, of Peekskill, New York, an employee of the Citgo Station located on Oregon Road, in Cortlandt
Jeremy Dunne, 19, of Bethel, Connecticut, an employee at the Sunoco Station, located on Albany Post Road in the Town of Cortlandt

Both were charged with prohibited sale of alcoholic beverages to a person under the age of 21, a misdemeanor, and issued appearance tickets.

Ten other establishments were checked and found to be in compliance.
