WHITE PLAINS – The former Parking Enforcement Officer for Mt. Kisco York was sentenced on Tuesday to shock probation on his September 2014 guilty plea to single counts of grand larceny offering a false instrument for filing, both felonies.  The sentence means he could spend up to six months in jail before beginning the remainder of a five-year sentence on probation.
The sentence for Jeffrey Daday, 37, of 15 Sun Valley Drive, North Salem, was conditioned on full restitution of the stolen revenue to the Village of Mt. Kisco on or before the date of his sentencing.
Over five year period from January 5th 2009 until May 6th, 2014, Daday took Village parking meter revenue belonging to his employer, the Village of Mt. Kisco.  He would empty the meters and deposit part of the proceeds, anywhere from $190 to $600 at a time, usually in the form of quarters, into his bank account at the local branch of People’s United Savings Bank on Moger Avenue in the Village.  Total loss to the village was estimated at close to $91,000.
Mt Kisco police were alerted to the thefts by employees at People’s United Bank who noticed that the defendant was making large coin deposits into his personal checking account, while in uniform, on a weekly basis, over a long period of time.
