Two arrested for bringing drugs into prison

COXSACKIE – Two Troy residents were
arrested on Saturday on misdemeanor charges of promoting prison contraband
for allegedly trying to smuggle two small balloons with synthetic marijuana
into the Greene Correctional Facility for inmates they were going to visit.
State Police at Catskill and the State Department of Corrections Inspector General’s Office arrested Marangeli Buckmon, 38, and Melissa Monell, 34, both of Troy for bringing the drugs into the prison.
They were both issued appearance tickets returnable to Coxsackie Town Court.
