Youth Bureau announces 2009 grant opportunities

MONTICELLO - The Sullivan County Youth Bureau Monday announced it is seeking program proposals for the 2009 calendar year from organizations that serve children and youth within Sullivan County and wish to apply for grant funding for their program.

The Youth Bureau receives funding annually from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services for youth recreation and services, youth initiatives, and delinquency-prevention projects within Sullivan County. Grants are for calendar year 2009 and must provide free direct service to Sullivan County children or youth, up to age 21. Eligible applicants include municipalities, nonprofit community-based organizations with a federal identification number and charity registration as a 501(c)3, or partnerships of organizations working together.

The Youth Bureau will hold an informational and technical-assistance meeting at the Sullivan County Government Center, 100 North Street, Monticello, on at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27 in the second-floor legislative committee room.
