Bus company to locate over 100 jobs in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN - The ACME Bus Company will buy the former Honda dealership property on Fulton Street in Middletown for use as a dispatch center for a new operation.

The company has signed a contract with Orange County to provide transportation for pre-school handicapped children.

The company briefed the city Common Council’s Planning Committee, Chairwoman Alderwoman Maxine Myer said Monday night.

“They will employ approximately 130 to 150 people for this contract. They will use 65 mini buses,” she said. The facility will be used primarily for dispatch, Myer said.

The contract with the county starts July 1.
