Governor has cataract surgery

NEW YORK – Governor David Paterson was set to go back to work Sunday after undergoing cataract surgery on Saturday, his office announced.

He was attended by Dr. John Danias and Dr. Robin Ginsburg at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.

The governor was sedated at 8:05 a.m. and Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos was informed of his condition.

The governor came out of surgery at about 9:45 a.m. and went to the recovery room awake and alert, his office said.
