Two arrests take two guns off the street

POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Neighborhood Recovery Unit conducted two search warrants this week and netted two illegally possessed guns.

The NRU, along with the city’s Detective Division and the Dutchess County Field Intelligence Group, executed a search warrant at 74 Catharine Street on Wednesday evening. The search warrant was the result of a two-month investigation into weapons and narcotics at that location.

James Gallo, 55, of that address, was arrested and charged with felony charge of criminal possession of a firearm in the fourth degree.

Early Thursday morning, a search warrant was executed at 179 Mansion Street, first floor, by City of Poughkeepsie NRU. The search warrant was the result of a three-month investigation into narcotic sales at that address.

Tyrone Dubose, 20, of that address was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a firearm in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.
