Police officers injured in crash

WALLKILL – Two Town of Wallkill Police officers and another person were injured Tuesday afternoon when the other motorist struck a police vehicle on Route 211 at the intersection of Tower Drive in the town.

At approximately 3:10 p.m., a town police vehicle was stopped in traffic eastbound on Route 211 at the intersection of Tower Drive when a second vehicle operated by a female resident from Middletown collided with the police vehicle and continued on coming to rest on the westbound shoulder.

Both drivers and one passenger were taken to the Horton Campus of Orange Regional Medical Center for minor injuries by Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Both officers were treated and released. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
