Discolored water traced to power plant

WEST NYACK - If you live in Stony Point and you have been experiencing discolored water, United Water has traced it to a water main break in the Lovett power plant’s private water system.

Lovett has a connection to United Water’s system said company spokesman Steven Goudsmith. When its six inch main broke, Lovett shut the main off at the valve creating an influx of minerals in United’s mains servicing the immediate area.

The system was expected to return to normal within a few hours Tuesday, he said.
