New Stewart hotel gets IDA incentives

STEWART AIRPORT – A new 80-room Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott will be constructed at New York Stewart International Airport now that the Orange County Industrial Development Agency, Thursday, approved financial incentives for the $11.2 million project.

Airport Properties VIII will receive three types of financial benefits, said agency Chief Financial Officer Laurie Villasuso.

“They were seeking sales tax, mortgage recording tax and a 10-year PILOT,” Villasuso said. “The board (Thursday) and approved the transaction so that will be moving forward.”

The hotel will be constructed near the same developer’s Homewood Suites at the airport.
