Two measles cases confirmed in Sullivan County

MONTICELLO – Two confirmed cases of measles have been reported in Sullivan County residents, the county Public Health Department reported.
The individuals are considered to have been contagious from March 4 to March 12.

The lived during that time primarily in Sullivan County, but did spend time in and traveled to Brooklyn where there s an ongoing measles outbreak.

Sullivan County, New York City Health Department and state Department of Health are working to contact those suspected of having been exposed during that contagious period.

There are no known exposures to Sullivan County residents at this time.

In adjacent Orange County, a few cases have been confirmed, but further south, in Rockland County, 147 confirmed cases have been reported since the October outbreak.
