Homeless Kingston man arrested on warrant

KINGSTON – A homeless man was arrested by Kingston City Police on a charge of being a parole absconder. Christopher Rion, 29, was also charged with resisting arrest.

Police were alerted in the early morning hours of March 9 that thefts were occurring from vehicles at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Among the stolen items were credit cards, one of which was used later in the day at a local business.

Further investigation identified the suspect as Rion, who was wanted on a parole violation. He was found hiding as he attempted to avoid being arrested on the outstanding parole warrant.

The investigation is continuing.  Police said Rion will face additional charges.
