Crawford town clerk charged with embezzlement


CRAWFORD – Crawford Town Clerk Jolene Roy, 44, of Pine Bush has been arrested on charges that she embezzled some $20,000 from the town.

State Police were contacted by town officials regarding irregularities with the books and accounts in the clerk’s office and investigation revealed the theft.

Roy was charged with grand larceny and tampering with public record as felonies, and a misdemeanor of falsifying business records. She was released on her own recognizance.

State Police were assisted in the investigation by the State Comptroller’s Office and Crawford Town Police.
