Ellenville man accused of throwing knives at woman

ELLENVILLE – An Ellenville man who was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman at an apartment at Emerald Pond Estates on Route 209 has been charged with throwing three kitchen knives at the woman, missing her.

Ellenville Police said Sean Nader came home around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 in an intoxicated condition and after trying to get into the apartment, ripped the door and frame off and threw it into the snow.

He then ran upstairs and grabbed three large kitchen knives and told the woman with children present that she was going to die. The woman placed the children in a secure room and fled down stairs with Nader throwing two knives at her and missed. He continued to chase her and threw the third weapon, also missing.

When police confronted Nader in the kitchen, he was irate and refused to comply, putting his fists up. That is when police fired a taser and took him into custody.

He was treated at the scene by Ellenville Paramedics to remove the darts from the taser and taken to police headquarters where he was charged with reckless endangerment, attempted assault, and criminal mischief, all as felonies and misdemeanors of menacing, resisting arrest and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
