Catskills Food Hub ready to launch first season

LIBERTY – The Catskills Food Hub based in Liberty is about to commence its first season this spring.

So far, over 40 local farms and businesses have expressed interest in the program with more within a 50-mile radius expected to participate, said Executive Director Caitlin Wilson.

“We have an online sales platform where producers can post their product and a profile about their farm and their growing or production method and then we help them find them buyers, or as we have buyers sign on and have their own account where they can buy food through that sales platform, and then farmer bring the orders to the hub and then we deliver them,” Wilson said.

Food Hub Board Chairwoman Denise Frangipane said the food hub plans on being a member of the agriculture and market community in the region for a long time to come.
