Fire rages in vacant Poughkeepsie building

POUGHKEEPSIE – Flames lit up the nighttime sky as they poured out windows at 29 South Cherry Street in the City of Poughkeepsie Saturday night.

The two-alarm blaze was reported around 10 p.m.

The 2 ½ story wood-frame building was a raging inferno as firefighters poured water on the flames as temperatures hovered around 30 degrees.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
