Five craft beers win gold, CIA brewery named tops of year

ALBANY – The Culinary Institute of America’s classroom lab, The Brewery at the CIA, has won Brewery of the Year in the third annual New York State Craft Beer competition.

Five locally produced beers won gold medals in the competitions:

  • American IPA Variations - Arrowood Farms in Accord won for True Love in an Arranged Marriage.
  • Belgian Farmhouse - Catskill Brewery in Livingston Manor won for Freak Tractor 10% Brett Beer.
  • Brown Ale - Brewery at the CIA in Hyde Park won for Class Project Br-Br-Br-Brown.
  • Light Lager - The Peekskill Brewery in Peekskill won for Skills Pils.
  • Wheat Beer (American, Wit, Hefe) - Brewery at the CIA in Hyde Park won for Mis en Place Wit.

The competition, sponsored by the New York State Brewers Association, was open to any state craft brewer.
