Feds offers reward in solving Town of Ulster gun thefts

TOWN OF ULSTER – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation have offered a combined reward of up to $2,500 – each agency offering half – for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the burglary of firearms from two federally licenses dealers.

On February 23 at about 1:30 a.m., two unknown persons forcibly entered Ruger’s Custom Guns located at 1050 Morton Boulevard in the Town of Ulster and stole a long gun.

On February 27 at about 5 a.m., two unknown persons broke into SafeShoot at 10 Kiefer Lane in the Town of Ulster and stole two handguns and ammunition.

The same individuals may be connected to the burglary of a residence in the City of Kingston on February 22 where other firearms were stolen.

The Ulster and Kingston City police departments are working together with the ATF Albany Field Office on the investigation.
