Meyers runs again for New Windsor supervisor, is cross-endorsed

NEW WINDSOR – Republican George Meyers was New Windsor town supervisor from 1994 to 2005. He wanted to get back into politics and has circulated petitions to challenge Republican incumbent George Green on June 25.

Meyers also received the cross-endorsement of the New Windsor Democratic Committee. That means if Meyers loses the GOP line, he will still appear on the ballot.

Running on the coalition ticket with Meyers are Democrat Sylvia Santiago and Republican Stephen Bedetti for town board, Kelly Allegra, a Democrat, is running for town clerk.

Prior to Meyers’ entering politics, he was a member of the State Police for 25 years retiring in 1993 as a major commanding Troop T on the Thruway.
