Unlocked vehicles broken into in Kingston

KINGSTON – Six vehicles left unlocked in the City of Kingston were broken into with thefts of personal property on Thursday.

City Police said the break-ins were committed in the areas of Thomas Street, Smith, Albany and Washington avenues and Kingston Plaza.

Two days earlier, on March 4, unlocked motor vehicles on West O’Reilly Street and Pine Grove Avenue were targeted by thieves.

City Police remind residents and visitors to the city to protect themselves, their vehicles, and their belongings from theft by making sure they lock their vehicles and roll up windows when leaving.

Never leave valuables in your car. If you must leave packages or valuables in inside, place them in the trunk or under a blanket to conceal them.

Report suspicious activity and persons; if you see something or someone unusual, call the police to report it.
