Monticello police chief gets new contract

MONTICELLO – Police Chief Robert Mir has a new three-year contract as approved by the Monticello Village Board.

Mayor Gary Sommers said the agreement includes the same salary as he receives currently - $90,000 annually, plus benefits.

Sommers said the village board is pleased with the work of the department under Mir’s leadership. He commands a staff of 25 sworn officers and two civilians.

Mir’s previous contract with the village was also three years. It expired a couple of months ago.
