Kerhonkson man sentenced to prison for sex with teen


KINGSTON – A former Kerhonkson man was sentenced in Ulster County Court to seven years in state prison and 10 years of post-release supervision on his conviction of felony criminal sexual act.

Daniel Mikalonis, 27, will also be required to register for a minimum of 20 years as a sex offender with the state and an order of protection has been issued in favor of the victim until 2044.

Mikalonis pled guilty on October 22, 2018 to engaging in oral sexual conduct with a 14-year-old child. The plea took place on the morning a jury was to be selected for a trial in the case.

He was arrested on September 13, 2017 following an investigation by the State Police at the Town of Wawarsing barracks.
