DCC may relocate its southern campus to Fishkill

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess Community College, with its main campus in the Town of Poughkeepsie, is looking to move its southern education center from its current location in Wappinger to the Town of Fishkill.

The college is currently negotiating to relocate it near the intersection of Route 9 and I-84, not far from the hotel cluster, said College President Dr. Pamela Edington.

“There is a property there, which has a lot of visibility, easy access for people who are on those major thoroughfares, and that would give us an opportunity to draw in more enrollment from Putnam and the places in New York which are experiencing population growth, and then offer some new programming down there,” Edington said.

If negotiations go well, the college would hope to move its southern campus to that major corridor.
