Eight kilos of heroin seized, two arrested

YONKERS – Local and federal law enforcement arrested two people and seized eight kilograms of suspected heroin when they conducted an investigation in the area of Central Park Avenue north of Palmer Road in Yonkers on Monday.

Javier Lozano, 54, of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Olga Lozano, 54, of Wyoming, Michigan, were each charged with felony drug possession. They were sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail.

The authorities said the heroin, as is constitutes some 200,000 individual “decks” with a street value with a street value of several million dollars.

Yonkers detectives and special agents and investigators from the DEA’s New York Drug Enforcement Task Force Group T-12 were conducting surveillance on Central Avenue and conducted a vehicle top on a rented vehicle occupied by the two suspects.

Investigation at the scene, including using drug sniffing K-9s, yielded sufficient probable cause to obtain a search warrant resulting in the discovery of the eight separately wrapped packages of heroin.
