Three charged following Ellenville fight

ELLENVILLE – When Ellenville Police tried to break up a fight between two women on Market Street at around 11:30 Tuesday morning, a man stepped in and tried to prevent the officers from making an arrest.

Elias Lugardo, 24, who is homeless, was subdued and arrested along with the two women. During the processing of the three, a quantity of marijuana was found hidden in his groin area. It was also learned Lugardo was wanted by the State of New Jersey on felony drug distribution charges.

Lugardo was charged with being a fugitive from justice, obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail pending extradition.

Noel Morgan, 19, of Wurtsboro, and Corina Brown, 23, of Ellenville, were both charged with disorderly conduct and issued appearance tickets to village court.
