FISHKILL – A Newburgh man died Thursday evening after his pickup truck crashed in the Village of Fishkill.

Based on investigation and witness statements, the primary factor in the crash appears to be a medical emergency that the driver, Don Tuangtuang, 62, suffered while driving.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said Tuangtuang’s pickup was southbound on Church Street in Fishkill when it continued through the intersection with Main Street without stopping and struck a stone wall and the building at 1140 Main Street. The vehicle came to rest against the stone wall with the front end partially through the building’s large glass window.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by State Police, Village of Fishkill Police, Village of Fishkill Fire Department, Rombout Fire Department and Mobile Life Support Services ambulance.

The investigation is continuing.
