Home sales dip, prices increase, in Ulster County

KINGSTON – The number of single-family homes sold in Ulster County in 2018 dropped five percent from the previous year, the Ulster County Board of Realtors reported on Thursday.

A total of 1,627 homes sold last year compared with 1,716 sold in 2017.

The average selling price rose by 11 percent, going from $253,513 in 2017 to $281,292 last year.

The number of days on the market dropped by six percent, going from 115 in 2017 to 108 in 2018, a sign of strong demand.

In December alone, sales fell by 15.5 percent, going from 167 in 2017 to 141 in 2018.
