Bronx woman arrested for reckless driving after Thruway pursuit

GREENBURGH – A Bronx woman was arrested and charged with leading State Police on a seven-mile pursuit on the Thruway in the Town of Greenburgh.

Troopers stopped a car for a vehicle and traffic violation at 9:15 p.m. on Monday, January 7 and after conducting a license check on the driver, Dominique Murphy, 33, of the Bronx, it was determined that she was unlicensed. While she was being interviewed by officers, she fled and a pursuit ensured, but it was terminated when she reached the Bronx County line. Officers instead went to her residence where she was located and taken into custody.

Murphy was charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, obstructing governmental administration, reckless driving and vehicle and traffic violations. She was issued appearance tickets and released pending a future court appearance.
