Armed robbery suspect linked to other crimes in Carmel

TOWN OF CARMEL – A Mahopac man was arrested for the December 1 armed robbery of the Video Games Plus store at 2 Clark Place in Mahopac.

Anthony Pesiri, 43, is believed to be linked to other larcenies, grand larcenies and criminal acts in the Town of Carmel.

Pesiri allegedly went to the video game store armed with what appeared to be a firearm and pointed it at the store clerk while demanding that he open the cash register. When he refused, Pesiri struck the clerk in the head and upper arm area with the gun causing pain, lacerations and bruising. Pesiri then allegedly grabbed the register and fled with it.

A warrant search led to the recovery of evidence related to the robbery.

Following the investigation that led to his identity, Pesiri was arrested by Carmel Police officers when they conducted a felony traffic stop.  He was charged with armed robbery, assault with a weapon, criminal use of a firearm and petit larceny.

Police Chief Michael Cazzari asked anyone with information about this incident or other crimes to contact the Detective Division of Carmel Police at 845-628-1300. All calls will be kept confidential.
