New State Police superintendent named by governor served in Hudson Valley

Corlett (file)

ALBANY – State Police Deputy Superintendent Keith Corlett has been nominated by Governor Andrew Cuomo to become the new superintendent, replacing George Beach, who was reportedly told to leave the post.

Both men have roots in the Hudson Valley. Beach lives in Hurley and served earlier in his career in Troop F on the west side of the Hudson River and Corlett held posts at both Troop F and Troop K, which serves the east side of the Hudson.

Beach, who became superintendent in June 2016, graduated from the State Police Academy in 1983.
