Talks continue for possible waterpark at Camp LaGuardia

Neuhaus, during a 2016 look at the property

GOSHEN – The possibility of a waterpark being developed at the Orange County-owned Camp LaGuardia property continues.

The property that straddles the towns of Chester and Blooming Grove is being eyed by Great Wolf Resorts for development of an indoor waterpark and hotel and County Executive Steven Neuhaus is hopeful.

“I’m very optimistic with it,” Neuhaus said. “We’re not there yet. We’re still dating and we are going steady. We might see a marriage sometime in the future.”

The company has said Orange County would be a good fit for the resort.

A waterpark at that location coupled with Legoland, which is under construction nearby, would enhance the county’s tourist attractions immensely, local officials say.
