ORMC kitchen reopens after fire but no hot meals

TOWN OF WALLKILL – A mid-morning kitchen fire located near the conference room at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill was quickly extinguished by Mechanicstown firefighters on Thursday.

One person was taken to the emergency room, according to EMS radio transmissions.

The cause is under investigation.

There were no hot meals for patients on Thursday. The hospital cafeteria will be closed until further notice, according to an email sent to staff. The Chock Full o’Nuts Café and Orange Eatery Bistro are open.
